Description
The candidate will perform application specific technical support and training to Department of State System Administrators. Evaluate and test new threat protection software. Test threat signatures files and update the web site when required. Assist the user community with computer virus related problems as they occur. Serve as a point of contact for the various embassies and consulates worldwide. Respond to customer inquiries concerning application malfunction, configuration, installation and update. Assists in the collection and submission of malware code samples, and perform analysis and risk assessment. Maintain distributions lists. Prepare status reports and end-of-shift report other job-related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and two to four years of related experience.

Requires a bachelors degree in engineering, computer science or a related discipline (or equivalent such as certifications in systems administration or network security) and two to four years related experience. Applicant must have 1 to 2 years of hands-on experience with Windows 2003/XP, must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, must have strong computer hardware and software skills, must have a basic knowledge of operating systems, perimeter security devices, firewalls and associated hardware and software. Additionally, must have strong computer skills with an understanding of the processes involved in the installation, configuration and removal of server and client software. Applicant must be able to trouble shoot, identify and correct problems with computer hardware, and have excellent telephone and customer support skills. Experience with Active Directory is a plus; Server and client anti-virus applications (Symantec, Norton, TrendMicro, Fortinet) preferred, and certifications are a plus, but not required.


Hours: 11:30 PM - 8:15AM every other weekend (Friday and Saturday)
Clearance: Must have a Secret level government security clearance and be able to obtain a Top Secret level clearance.
