Linux Mad Scientist - SweetLabs Seattle

SweetLabs Seattle is looking for a top notch Linux Admin to join our operations team. We’re changing the way that people discover and interact with great software (desktop and web), and do so in a high-integrity “do the right thing” way. We have a number of different efforts within the company ranging from consumer facing products to an advertising network.

This is a fast paced environment working in the agile development model.* You'll have a lot of latitude how you complete your projects but also high expectations of the output.

What We're Looking For:
  • At least 5 years hands-on production experience
  • Experience supporting LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) applications
  • Technical proficiency RHEL, CentOS, Apache, PHP
  • Strong scripting skills (sh/bash/Perl/etc)
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise monitoring systems (Nagios, Cacti)
  • Knowledge of network related technologies such as load balancing, firewalls, DNS, and routing

Nice-To-Haves:
  • Self starter
  • Experience with measuring and improving software performance
  • Experience with high scale systems

About Us

At SweetLabs we build products that empower developers to offer users a richer and more compelling application experience. Today, we do that through two unique platforms: Pokki, a powerful platform that brings media-rich web applications directly to the desktop; and the OpenCandy Software Network, which offers user-friendly software recommendations through the download and installation process. Our ultimate goal is to help developers deliver useful, entertaining and informative applications to consumers across any device.

The team behind SweetLabs is a smart, pragmatic and experienced group united by a shared desire to improve the software discovery process and user experience for everyone. We work in a casual but fast-paced environment with flexible schedules, full health benefits, 401k and free lottery tickets (or as we call them, stock options). Our investors include Google Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners and O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures.
