sendobject method

I am using the sendobject method to send the same message and attachment to numerous recipients in a table of customers. Will the person who is using the database have to use Microsoft Outlook for sending the e-mail or can they use the e-mail system that their ISP provides??

If an alternative to Outlook is possible the how is it done????
