Summing durations

Hi, first time here, hope this doesn't sound too dumb. I'm trying to adjust a db that someone else has set up ... anyway,

I want to sum durations (of video). The durations in the table are numbers formatted as "00.00". They are all in minutes and seconds.

When I sum them (either in a report or a query) I get different results depending on the format I have entered (either 00.00 or nn:ss). No results are correct!

I'm not sure if I'm putting formats in the wrong spot or the wrong way. I've tried putting everything everywhere & now I'm VERY confused.

Obviously there's something I'm completely misunderstanding ...

What do you envision your end result looking like? Hours:Minuteseconds?

The total should always appear as minutes and seconds.

mmmmmmmmmmm
that a good one

as minutes and seconds. is not 100 base suming then up is going to be a bit tricky

ie sec only count up to 60 then a 1min clicks over that what you need to do
get the computer to count/sum in 60th

I'll look for some old code I wrote to fix this I wrote a few PC's ago
