Yes, in fact my actual full database has a list control for the class ID. The user selects the classID vice tying it in.

This database was just a sample of that one with the problem that I was having.

Take a look at this version. I got it working partially, but when I open the form I have to first select the DivID combobox and select the division again before it filters the lessons. And when I move on to the next class(record) I have to do that process all over again before the lessons are again filter to the correct division.

subFormFilter - Test3 - PartiallyWorking.mdb

Yes, but I must apologize up front, the extent of my VBA knowledge comes from code snippets I have been able to find in other databases and fit them to my needs.

I need a break. I have been working on this darn thing 0700 EST today. You have been a tremendous help. I am going to tap out for the night and start fresh tomorrow morning. That's if I can go to sleep without thinking about SELECT, Requery, AfterUpdate, On Current.

Get some sleep. I think you will find the problem is easier to solve than you are making it out to be. I'll be around.

after much bucket filling and fire lighting, I, I use I loosely, have solved this problem with a significant amount of assistance from RuralGuy. Kudos.
