I need to link the results of a query in a secured mdb to an xls file. How do I pass the mdw, user name and password from excel to access?

I tried joining the appropriate mdw through the workgroup administrator. Excel asks for the user name and password, but says I don't have permissions (the user name has full admin rights to everything in the db). I don't think that excel is using the right workgroup.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
