Logarithm charting on HP color laser jet

When I try to print out a chart with the x axis formated as logarithm on a HP color laser jet 8550DN I get random dashed lines(simialr to the minor log lines but in black not the selected color) scattered across the page. These lines not parallel, do not originate from the same side, some even have 90 degree bends in them. If I print the chart out on a black and white laser jet printer, HP model 8150DN everything is fine.

I have tried two color laser jets and 1 black and white.

I do not know the memory capabilities of any of the printers.

Is this a Excel issue or a printer issue?
