Or how to set the defualt for a datasource in a word merge in word 2003

I have a file from 2000 word and now when the user opens it they get a SQL msg about what query will run to merge, they keep freaking out so i want to surpress that msg and also re link to the old file becuase it never needed to be pointed to the datasource , and the DS is in the same place as always but.... the new 2003 cant just connect.
