Excel: drop-down list with edit capability

Hi there, I can create a drop-down list in excel no problem, but how do you create a list whereby if there is no selection which would apply to you, you could have a blank where you enter your own selection/choice.

Regards,

If you are using Validation, then define your list by name (i.e. myList), but be sure that the top cell is blank, except now type a single quote ' in that cell. Then in Validation, choose List, and in Source, type:

=myList

Now the dropdown should have a blank at the top.
