mouse scroll

I have a macro that compiles info from many excel files into one excel file. After the files are compiled, the mouse scroll seems to be disabled. It's not a big problem because you can double click on a cell and it starts working again but I am curious about what would cause that. The only thing I can think of is I turn screen updating off while compiling. It also seems to be a excel `97ish problem because I don't have that problem in 2003. Any clues?

Can't think of any specific Excel97 problems with that...but if you post the code from the Macro I am sure you will get your answer.
