field Names

Please can someone help, I am trying to import external data and running an edit query in excel 2003 the original spreadsheet was created in excel 2000, when i run the import it removes the field names that were present and changes them from these:
DATE HOUR SERVER AGENT_NAME RESP_TIME VOLUMES


To

1 2 Host AGENT_NAME 5 6

How do I get this to keep the original field names

Check your 'Data Range Properties' Options. Make sure 'Include Field Names' is checked in the Data Formating and Layout section.

If your still having problems convert the data source, and control workbooks to Excel 2003 format and reconstruct the External Data query.
