I as wondering if it is possible to update the month/year September 2006
I have at the end of the text in cell L9 with the title (October-06) in cell O4.

Try the following in L9:

="patients that were discharged with lengths of stay greater than 15 days…………………. during " & TEXT(O4,"mmmm yyyy") & "."
