Hey ladies and gents,

I have a problem that i am having difficulty solving. I have 2 sheets and im trying to use mileage information in one and see if it falls between a certain range then in the other so returns corresponding team information and populates a cell. I have attached a sample to this thread so you can see what i mean. Can someone please point me int he right direction?

Howdy. I have been sick, so not much help. It would be easier if you attached an .xls file (zipped). In the file be sure to indicate what you expect the result to be from the formula (just type in the number and put an explanation). That will give us an idea of the actual setup and we can test it.

Thank you for your reply. I hope that you are fully recovered from your illness.

Basically the attached spreadsheet contains 2 populated sheets (sometimes the sheets contain alot more info).

1st tab "searchinfo"
2nd tab "teams"

searchinfo has a blank column "C"

I want to search the "teams" sheet usins the data from the 1st sheet.

ie.

the cell "C2" should contain "TEAM A"
and cell "C3" should contain "TEAM C"

Because the search should find the route where there mileage falls into and returns the value.

No. I serve full time for our church body, as seminary president, mission developer, and extended pastoral training. And now I am filling a pastoral vacancy Fri-Mon, about 250 miles away. So travel, study, phone conferences, and training take up almost all my time.

Basically I have no days off ... until sometime in February.

Now you know why I retired as Excel user.

Shades i wish there were more like you, alot of people dont give the time of day on forums. please accept my apologies if i sounded impatient.

No apologies necessary. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Excel, when I was doing it full time. At times now when I miss it, I take a trip through the boards. Unfortunately I can't spend the time setting up solutions.

The good news... there are several excellent helpers here, far better than me.
