Question counting alpha and num**** cells to get one value

EXCEL PIC.doc
Hopefully I'm explaining this clearly... I have various alpha data in col. D and a linked cell (check mark returning "True / False") in col. E I need to calculate the total number of "alpha" items - but only if the check is True.

Its used to track new leads via source, but also follow up appointments for a sales rep's activity in a given week. Any help you can provide to make this work properly so a single lead isn't being counted multiple times if they cross over to another week.

I've attached a screen shot (I think) which might help understand.

thanks in advance.

Todd
