Where to start?

I want to learn how to use my Old Excel 97 and SQL Server. I have been reading lots of stuf online and I think I'm just as confussed now as ever.

What I have figured out so far is that ADO is the way to go. I know that I need to check the Active X 2.8 within excel.

I played around with getting a connection but just can't seem to do it.

So does anyone have a tutorial that will hold my hand and walk me through the process from start to finish. ie checking drivers, making sure I have the SQL installed correctly and so on.

Thanks

Menessis
