Applying conditional formatting I have two cells selected in EXCEL 2003.

First E3 then then B3.

These cells are formatted as currency.

Conditional formatting I'm trying to accomplish is if E3 is > B3 apply Cond. Format font= GREEN.

Problem is that NO font color or styles are selectable in the Formatting window, only bold, italic, etc.

Any ideas?

Hi Rick,

The font and it's size can't be changed in conditional formatting, but the colour palette should be available. To be honest, I'm not sure why it would be disabled. Can you attach a simple example workbook for us to look at?

Actually the problem was my dyslexic "stupid brain" pinched off my functioning brain and blinded me.

Once I realized my stupid brain was in control I went to the refer, retrieved a cold beer, drank it fast and then my normal brain slowly began to focus. Whew!

I was using the drop down list for italic, bold, etc., in attempting to change the text color.

Silly me . . .
