Opening Excel via ASP.Net

My Collegue and i are trying to find a way of opening the EXCEL Application using ASP.NET.
We have developed a worksheet that allows users to check data against a specific topic using comand buttons comboboxes etc.. The problem occurs when trying to access one of these controls with excel viewer. It automatically asks the users to open Excel. This is OK but we want to make the transition as seamless as possible.

Anyone have any Ideas

David

Hi David,

Have a look in the following KB-article from MS in case it can contribute anything related to Your issue:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...Product=aspnet

Kind regards,
Dennis

asp.net to excel

Thanks Denis,

Will give this a try, Looking at a link from the page it might be imposible to do without changing the registry on the machines where the data is to be used.

We will probably have to look at another way of automatically opening the document such as sending keys or similar or to provide a savable version of the document.

I wasnt sure if what i was asking was possible or not.

David
