pasting fromexcel to word

Here goes my first post!!!

When I try to paste a cell to a word document and have it "linked" to excel, the linked cell appears in word BUT is always dropped 1 line down. For example:

We had ____________ injuries in 2002.
I want the linked cell to be in the underlined area.

but, here is what I get

We had _______injuries in 2002.

200

The number is always 1 line down, is there someting in the format of the cell???
