Protect a column

Is there a way to protect a specific column on a worksheet from editing information in it.

E.g. I would like to protect column B on a worksheet I have but only Column B not the whole worksheet.

How can I accomplish this please?

By default, Excel will lock all cells in a worksheet. Highlight the columns that you want to be editable (except for Column Band goto Format-->Cells-->Protection-->Uncheck Locked. Tehn goto Tools-->Protection-->Protect Sheet. Add a password if you want.

Now everything except Column B will be editable.

Hope that helps,

Smitty
