Passing parameters to SQL query from Excel

I want to pass parameters from Excel to an SQL query. When I use the MS Query Editor, there is no indication of how I would pass information from an Excel cell to a value passed to the SQL query.

Any ideas about how I do it? Is it possible without writing VBA?
