How to learn?

Hi,

Okay, so I've started to see the limitations in MS Access and I really want to start using a better system to create systems on. Word has it that MS SQL is the system to use.

My questions are really basic and really novice, but please do bare with me.
How do I get a copy of MS SQL(SQL express?)? How do I start using it? Do I need a server to use/create?

Can you recommend any sites/books that can help me?

I know that these questions are really simple/amateur question, but you have to start from somewhere.

Any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks
