The 13/06/2012 which uses the dd/mm/yyyy format (british format) translates as the 13th of June 2012 - how is that a messy date????
That's a EUROPEAN format and not necessarily just British. We used the same format in Ireland. Confusing part was when Americans would program with the American format and we'd have to convert datetime to EU format.
