Test server configuration

I have a recommended configuration for production server. But, is there any guidelines for determining the test server configuration when compared to production. I know test server need not be as powerful as production, but I am not sure how to decide the test server configuration. Any help would be appreciated

Its ideal http://www.microsoft.com/sql/evaluat...00/default.asp if it matches to nearest requirement as specified.

This site gives the minimum requirement, which is not a problem. For my application, the production requirement is 2GHz Processor and 2GB RAM. But I don't know what to decide for Test server. Should I go for half of the production configuration or quarter or on what basis should I decide. The number of users and number of transactions would be very less in test comparted to production, but need to make sure the SPs and Queries that work in production also work in test server.

Consider half of the production server's capacity.
