maxdb or inno? + -> auto_increment and phpmyadmin?

Hi, normally im using mysql for webporjects. But the next projects should be programmed with maxdb (also from mysql ab) because of higher safety.

what do you think of inno-tables? Are they secure in case of transactions?

Well, my question:
Is it possible to use the auto_increment feature in maxdb tables? I haven't found anything on this topic. In mysql the auto_increment feature saved a lot of work.

another question:
Had anyone success with using phpmyadmin with maxdb? Possible with socket-connection? Very nice tool. Would be nice if running with maxdb.(webtools incl. in maxdb not that good!)
