I copied the database folder from one server to another server. I cannot access the old server to move it the right way by using backup or mysqldump command. How can I get the copied sub folder to work in the new server? Right now if I open the MySQL administrator and click on catalogs > dbname > nothing shows up here.

Try use PHPMyadmin to generate a complete database backup and after that run SQL generated on database where you want.
