Hi,

I have problem when starting MySQL server. I get the error message:
error: 'Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)'
Check that mysqld is running and that the socket: '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' exists!

I have checked the file and it does not exist. What should I do now? Where can I find that file?

Is your mysqld process running? Is your user created?

I fixed it by reformatting the HDD and installed a new version of mysql.
