send alert when MYSQL is down

One of you have a little script that can alert me by email when MYSQL is down.

it could be done with, PHP, perl CGI, ASP...

I don't think MySQL will tell you when it crashes (?)...your best bet may be to write a cron job to check if it is online every 10 or 15 mins and then email you on failure.
