I have downloaded dbdesigner4 just to find that the team has abandoned the project. Shame that they were intruded on. I agree with their statement about the web sickness out there.

Is there a way to have dbdesigner4 work with release 5.0 of mysql?

I think there may be if you tinker with the libmysql client libraries and set authentication in MySQL to version 3. I did try to get it to work but couldn't fathom it out in time.

Its not all bad news, the guy behind dBDesigner now works for MySQL and is behgind the development of MySQL Workbench. However its at a fairly early stage and is not usable (at least the versions I tried on both Win XP & Suse9.3)
