how do I connect from a mysql db to sqlserver db

Hi

We currently have a mysql database on a Linux box. We are trying to connect to a sqserver database and it's using PHP. We are getting an error message saying that it's unable to find the sqlserver db.

Warning: msssql_connect(): Unable to connect to server Tilbury in /data/home/httpd

Information that we know is this:

We know the name of the db, server and the port number.

What PHP cannot seem to do is actually connect to anything.
