DB query

Table names and their field names
members
field name:-memberId firstname lastname username password

membertype
field name:-membertypeid membertypename

membertyperequest
field name:-memberId membertypeid

member_assign
field name:-memberId membertypeid

A new member will register, when he registers he can choose membertype(optional). Admin will see the request type and assing membertype.

The problem is, how to get values from members and membertyperequest (if they have not choosen one)?

with a LEFT OUTER JOIN
Code:
select members.memberId
     , members.firstname
     , members.lastname
     , membertyperequest.membertypeid as requested_type
  from members
left outer
  join membertyperequest
    on membertyperequest.memberId = members.memberId
