I'm building my a site with joomla! cos i'm pretty much a beginner but i want to run league tables on my site so i guess my first question is is this possible with MySql databases?

then my second question would be where can i find decent idiot-friendly tutorials on this

sorry, this part is not clear, you want tutorials on building tables in mysql, or tutorials on building league tables?

on sql in general but if there's something will directly explain creating a league table that i'll jump on it.
