Question Navicat HTTP Tunnel (Visual FoxPro)

Hello, I am looking for information to find out if I can set up Visual FoxPro to work in a similar way to navicat
In Navicat I can specify a HTTP Tunnel, and upload a PHP file to my site
This connects fine
But I wanted to use VFP, I have the MySQL 3.51 drivers installed but my hosting company are not sure about VFP and are asking if there is a Tunnel Scenario I can use
I think they are concerned about security issues etc.
Not being to sure what the implications are I wondered if anyone could shed any light on this. The server is a LINUX server
Or if there is a way of giving the advice on how VFP may connect securely
