Talking Community Site

I am coding a community type site, and I was wondering how you would design a database for this kind of a thing. It would include profiles and forums, etc. I am NOT interested in using something like phpbb, etc. Thanks!

Spend some time on sites like facebook.com and myspace.com and see what they implement and information that they store on yourself and about others. Then think about how this information is related and you have yourself the basics of what you're wanting
