Seperate Data and Log devices

Hi All

Please forgive the post, i'm sure i should be able to find the answer somewhere, but no matter how i format my search i can't nail the answer

How can i specify the physical location for my database data and logs, i obviously want them on seperate physical disks, not all placed in the default directory.

I am using the free version of MySQL '5.0.67-0ubuntu6'
