InnoDB support in host providers

Recently i got a host service from a famous provider, but the support center told me they do not support innodb tables in their shared serveres, and when i ask him about reasons, they told me because of security reasons, almost all of the providers deny to support innodb in their shared servers, & i should get a dedicate server if i need innodb. Why is that and is it true that i cant find innodb support on shared servers?

Hi,

I have seen that using InnoDB engines there is a potential for DoS attacks. From what I have read a lot of these have been fixed in MySQL server 5.1.24. On the otherhand my service provider does provide InnoDB.
