Mysql Incremental Backup Query

Hi all,

What is the best solution for mysql incremental backup??

So far, I have tried with mysql-zrm tool for incremental backup. Tested it in our test database. Now i need to implement in our production database. Before that i wanted to be sure whether this mysql-zrm tool is appropriate or there are any better solution.

regards,

Before deciding on a single tool, I would look more closely at your recovery requirements. If you need to be able to recover within a period of time, it may be easier to take full backups on a daily basis rather than incremental. An incremental will reduce the amount that is backed up on a daily basis but it can cause more headaches when it comes to restoring. The mysql-zrm tool is a front end to mysql command line utilities (mysqldump, mysqlhotcopy and replication).

What would be the easy solution for full daily backup...!! I need to take backup remotely....!!

Right now i am taking backup into my local windows based PC using .bat file in .sql format. windows batch file connect to linux server using mysqldump utility and store backup in .sql format directly into my local pc..
