Hello all.
I'm having problems with installing MySql servers and clients 4.0.16 (installer) on win XP. when running the setup.exe file, I'm getting a warning massage: "unInstaller setup failed to initialize. you may not be able to uninstall this product".
then it start to copy all files, and then an error massage:

AppName: _ins5176._mp AppVer: 5.10.130.0 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000

now i'm unable to perform uninstall (the log file is not valid...).

Please Help!!

did you check the signatures before downloading?

as for your uninstall problem look for a 3rd party uninstaller like cleansweep to remove the bad files,
