Windows 2000 Memory Leak

We are running a 3.23.52 MySQL database on Windows 2000 Service pack 4, and it was running fine, now all of a sudden we are getting very slow response time. While watching the available memory in the Task Manager we notice that over time the Available Physical Memory continues to be sucked up and never gets reclaimed. This is even when no other applications are running. We turned off the WinMySQLAdmin tool and rebooted so that it wouldn't run at all with the service.

The thing that is really strange about this is that it runs really fast after you reboot the computer or stop and restart the service, and then over say the course of the day it really starts to slow. Restarting the service seems to make it run fast again.

Has anyone had this problem? Is it something with our data we need to check? Thanks.
