Red face best db engine

hi,
i need to migrate a base from pervasive.sql to some other...
i wonder if mysql is the best option.
the aplication is a typical client/server.
is mysql the best? is it faster than msSQL?

From a practical perspective, it is impossible to compare database engines. While a particular engine might be the best for a specific task, no engine is the best at everything. You have to look at the problem(s) that you want to solve, then make an educated guess at which engine will do the best job for you.
