starting mysql(beginner)

Hi,
i just got MySQL5.0 install in my PC(window ME) few days ago,but i don't know how to connect to it.I have try to follow the MySQL manual,but it doesn't work.
Can someone please tell me how to start MySQL using comand prompt
and how to connect to it and create accounts.I know these questions sounds silly,but i really can't figure it out.Thanks you.

if you a beginner , please not use MySQL 5.0 Alpha , install a stable versi�n 4.0.18.

To administer the database easily and to know it I recommend him to use MySQL Turbo Manager.
