Mysql configuration

Hello!

I have a "school account" (UNIX) and want to setup a mysql server.
I'm a really newbie of UNIX so I would be really glad if you could explain how I should write etc. ....

I have made module add (mysqlversion)
Know the administrator says that I have to make my own "configuration file"?

What will that file configure, is it where my database can be find?

How do I do that?

Thanks in advance // D_S

If you can't connect as root, don't bother. Ask an admin to install it for you.

Then have a shot at the Unix MySQL installation instructions and see how far you can get! I don't see much chance if you aren't able to log in as root.
