Cannot start mysql as service, please help!

I installed mysql on Win2000 server, changed my.cnf files, and finally installed as a service: mysqld-max-nt --install.
I can see it in services list, it´s marked as Automatically, but it doesn´t run - when I start it by clicking on start, it starts, but after 1-2 seconds it get stopped again.
What can I do with it??
