Hi,

Does anyone have experience about installing MySQL on AIX?
I failed to install both 4.0.18 and 4.0.20 on AIX 5.1. The download
file is mysql-standard-4.0.18-ibm-aix5.1.0.0-powerpc.tar.gz, it's a
source code. I followed the installation guide, ran "configure" first,
then "make". But, it failed when I ran "make". I don't remember the
exact message.

Any response is highly appreciated?

Which compiler do you use ?

I think it's gcc. I am not sure mysql-standard-4.0.18-ibm-aix5.1.0.0-powerpc.tar.gz product I got is a binary one or not. I could not find the makefile, so the make
failed.
