Hi everyone I am unsure where to start but i need something pretty basic I think....
I am pretty good with html and know some php, I have sorta taught myself.

I am building a site for someone to register at, when they do they get an automatic email back with a code. I have only 999 codes to use and they are 3 digit codes. I need to keep track of which person gets each code, and have a databse of who owns which code.
I also need to keep track if they in then had a referring code.
I am sorta lost on this!
I am needing to make this for my boss, any help on how I can do this would be greatly appreciated!

if you are good with php you can easily make a php/mysql script to do that
