How to close a thread/mark as solved?

I've been here for barely a week. I wanna know how to close a thread or mark it as solved. I've got only one thread so far. Thanks.

No facility to do so here - just leave it and it will drift away.

add another post at the end of the thread which says "this thread may now be considered closed" for the benefit of those numpties who don't actually read the thread and figure that out for themselves
