Space in lvol on HP server for db

Hi

I freed 15GB from a logical volume on the HPUX server by removing a tablespace after moving the data in its datafiles to another lvol which was successful and rebuilt the indexes.

Can still access the data.

But cannot see a reduction in the 'used space' % in /OPTD. It is still 97%

15GB is about 9% so doing bdf or df -k should show the used space for /OPTD as 88%. Am I wrong?

Actually /OPTD is in lvol1.

Just thought I'd also ask if this has got something to do with the bounce size of the filesystem?

Does lsof have to be run as root because I issued

lsof -u oracle

and it said command not found. Or does it have to be downloaded?

The alert log shows that the files associated to the dropped tablespace have been deleted.

So if the files have been deleted then surely something is stuck somewhere.

I am sorry to see that GOOGLE is broken for you.
Please wait while repairs are completed.
Additional details will be posted when they become available.
If you get bored, you can restart the DB and/or the OS.
