Does anyone know a tool / script to provide GUI / report to centralize the status of multiple oracle database exports that were run on several servers where oracle is installed ? The idea is to save time & effort to manually monitor each database export separately. thanks.

Assuming we have oracle 10g, if this is what u meant, please elaborate what and how can be done to monitor exports on multiple oracle databases, some of which on same machine and some of which on different machines. Thx

Would u please provide link to actual example / speicifcs how to utilize oracle grid control 11g to monitor exports on various oracle machines ? Also whether it's required to use data pump export for this purpose or regular export is sufficient. Thank u.

What hasn't been mentioned is that if you are using exports for backup, then they are useless. Look up RMAN.

1) As beilstwh points out, using exports for backup are useless. Look up RMAN.

2) With Grid control, you can schedule the backups and other process' in a central location, and receive e-mail alerts if the jobs fail (or succeed).

3) If you do not want to purchase Grid Control, you can use the Enterprise Manager DB Console (free with rdbms software) on each server to schedule and monitor the backup and other jobs.
