Smile Oracle 9i on a Linux Box

We're planning an Oracle 9i installation on a Linux Box to prepare the Oracle 9i installation on our AIX servers.

What linux distribution would you recommend? What minimum requirements would you recommend (RAM,CPU,HD...)?
Any special requirements or preparations to be done?

I know what the official docs say, I'm interested in practical experiences with that.

Thank you
Frank

I would recommend Suse because I think that's the one supported by Oracle.
I am going to install 9i myself on my PC with Suse 7.3 as soon as I am back home (2 weeks from now)
I have a Celeron 800 with 640MB RAM. I think that will run fine, I am just going to create a small database.
