Smile Ora 12592

I am working on Oracle 7.3.4 and access the oracle database from an unix client server. The database is also on another server (unix). All the users are connected to the client server and they get logged out intermittently, after an ORA 12592 error.

What is it that I can do to tune this?

Hi,

ORA-12592 TNS:bad packet

Cause: An ill-formed packet has been detected by the TNS software.

Action: Not normally visible to user. For further details, turn on tracing and reexecute the operation.

The input from sethu is right:

try to set

trace_level_client=16
trace_file_server= a_file_name_you_like
trace_directory_server= a_directory_you_like

on the client machine's sqlnet.ora file: setting these parameters will produce a file containing debug information about what happens on SQL*Net.
