Oracle Server went down

Hi there:
I have a question about under what situation oracle could be cloesd and shutted down by itself?
I am working with Oracle 9i2, Win2000, front-end is .net.
What happened is:
Ten minutes after I finished logical backup, the server was closed and went down automatically. The backup was successful and I didn't have any script running against Oracle during that time.

Any clue?
Thanks in advance!
Tina

Re: Oracle Server went down

Yes, I did.
But what I found is, Oracle was closed first and shutted down. Looked like under very normal condition.

Well, there you go. If it looks like somebody shut it down, than it probably wasn't an error. Maybe you could post the lines from the alert.log where the error occurred...

Smile

Check for any batch jobs enabled on this machine:

c:\>at

Was the service OracleService<SID> running after you discovered Oracle went down? What about the EventLog? Anything there ??

Hope that helps,
